The exposed location of the Capo Vaticano offers you the possibility to perform numerous excursions. An exploration of the coastal line leads you from Tropea with it’s picturesque Old Town down south to the Bronze di Riaci (bronze statues found in the Tyrrhenian Sea) in Reggio Calabria, of which Gabriele D’Annunzio said it’s boardwalk was the most beautiful mile in Italy. The hinterland invites you to trips with stop over at Mongiana and Serra san Bruno, domicile of the convent of Certosa, finally arriving at the Ionian Sea with the Cattolica of Stilo, Capo Colonna and Le Castella. Crossing the Tyrrhenian Sea you reach the Aeolian Islands. Stromboli the active volcano is located 32 nautical miles west of the Capo Vaticano. From there the door opens to Sicily’s beauties e.g. Taormina, Cefalù or the volcano Etna.

Posto a 250 metris.l.m. Pentedattilo sorge arroccato sulla rupe del Monte Calvario, dalla caratteristica forma che ricorda quella di una ciclopica mano con cinque dita, e da cui deriva il nome: penta + daktylos = cinque dita.Sfortunatamente alcune parti della montagna sono crollate ed essa non presenta più tutte e cinque le "dita" ma rimane comunque un posto affascinante e pieno di mistero, uno dei centri più caratteristici dell'Area Grecanica.Quello che era l'antico paese risulta oggi abbandonato, la popolazione infatti è migrata leggermente più a valle formando un nuovo piccolo centro dal quale si ammira il vecchio "paese fantasma".Ogni estate Pentedattilo è tappa fissa del festival itinerante Paleariza, importante evento della cultura grecanica nel panorama internazionale. Inoltre ospita tra agosto e settembre il Pentedattilo Film Festival, festival internazionale di cortometraggi, che unisce magicamente cinema e territorio.
TROPEA
Tropea is one of the most frequented touristical centres of Calabria, especially in summer. It's located on a cliif directly above the white sands of the Tropean beaches. It's marina is of medium profundity and about 235 meters long. It can host 60 yachts up to a length of 18 meters.
If you promenade through the streets of the picturesque Old Town, Tropea presents itself above the turquise Thyrrenean see embedded in blossoms of Aloe, cactus and geranium.
AQUAPARK
The "Aquapark" is located at Marina di Zambrone 10 kms north of the hotel Damanse. Its situated on the terrain of an old campground covered with lemon and orange trees. Its an amusement park with different pools and water slides of different degree of difficulty from "baby's finest" to "I'm the hero of Tropea!!" :-) Furthermore you'll find shops, a restaurant and video games for the kids.
It's a must see for children and thus obligate for parents.
A piece of coast rich of lovely sites and great impressions much touristically frequented. You have an impressive panorama caused by the cliffy coast with it's hidden coves and the turquoise water.
GAMBARIE
From the mountain village Gambiare, located on top of the Aspromonte, you have an amazing sight on Messina and Sicilly. In Winter it's possible to ski on numerous ski-pistes. In Summer it offers the opportunity to escape from the heat at the beaches and to undertake hiking trips to the top of the Aspromonte or to the aboriginal macchia forests.
Le origini di Badolato si devono a Roberto il Guiscardo (1080) il quale fece erigere un Castello fortificato.Nel 1269 gli Angioini concessero il feudo a Filippo il quale l'anno successivo intraprese una guerra con il Conte Ruffo di Catanzaro. Gli abitanti, rinchiusi nel borgo, vennero assediati dal Conte Ruffo il quale infine riuscì a conquistare Badolato che rimase in seguito alla sua casata fino al 1451. In seguito appartenne alla famiglia Di Francia e nel 1454 il Borgo divenne baronia dei Toraldo i quali parteciparono anche alla Battaglia di Lepanto (1571) e lo amministrarono fino al 1596.Badolato passò poi ai Ravaschieri (1596), ai Pinelli (1692) ed infine ai Pignatelli di Belmonte (1779) i quali ressero il potere fino alla fine della feudalità (1806).Gravemente danneggiato durante la sua storia dai terremoti (1640, 1659 e 1783), Badolato venne anche colpito in epoca più recente da un'alluvione (1951).
STROMBOLI
The Stromboli Volcano belongs to Sicily and is about 160.000 years old. It's number of craters varies from 2 to 4. Stromboli is an active volcano of the so called strombolean type. That means that the volcano has periaodical eruptions every 10 to 30 minutes.
Stromboli belongs to the Aeolean Islands and can be reached by ferry boat from Reggio, Milazzo or Naples. Day trips to Stromboli and the islands can be booked at the DAMANSE during the summer season. The boat leaves at about 7 am and returns at 7 pm.
